Does anyone know of a good type of mouse pen? Like the old days when they would touch the screen with a light pen.

My Wife purchased a "All in one computer" that does not have a touch screen on it and i would still like to eliminate the mouse from the equation. A pointing device would be perfect for this.

This is a link to my wife's impulse buy. http://www.buzzillions.com/reviews/averatec-all-in-one-desktop-intel-atom-processor-n270-reviews#bz-model-reviewTitle

This is not where she purchased it from. I think she said she paid under 300 for it on a closeout webpage.

It may not be the greatest computer but it is a clean looking machine that takes up only the space of the monitor and it is awesome looking.

She thought it would look really good as our jukebox in our living room. I already have a jukebox i made using dwjuke in my gameroom using a Dell 19" monitor with a touch screen on it.

So far this thing is nice. It has a 18'5 inch screen a gig of ram and a 160 gig hard drive. So far it's good for the 132 gigs of music i have so no external hard drive will be needed. It is basically a stand alone unit. The motherboard is in the base of the monitor. There are volume up down buttons and the power button right on the front edge of it. Basically i have the power cord and the phono jack to the running through a Technics Class "AA" amp going out to Klipsch speakers. I am using for now a wireless mouse but some time in the future i would like to have a pointing device or maybe i will install a touch screen on it like i did for the game room jukebox. The monitor itself tilts up so you can see i from above and not just in front of you..

Light pens work by detecting the CRT beam as it paints the phosphors on the screen.  LCD displays do not work in this manner and thus light pens do not work with them.

Your best bet would likely be a touchscreen kit like the ones at http://www.touchscreens.com/products-addon.html (although none of those look like the right size).

I was thinking something along the lines of this. Iwould like to hear from someone that has experience with a device like this to see if it would work for what we are doing.
