Jukebox in bar

Thought i'd share this with you all. A small project i'm working on.
I stumbled across DWJukebox while looking for a media player for PC and as a manager of a public house i thought this could save me some money.... We had looked at 'real' pub jukeboxes and £3,500 was a bit steep.
The plan is, install dwjukebox onto existing PC or laptop (already been tested with laptop) and set up behind the bar. Mount monitor on customer area, straight through wall. Use a USB number keypad as selector, mounted just below monitor.
Question1. Can the number pad be 'rewired' to accept a coin slot mechanism?
Question2. Is this legal? (to ask customers to pay for the music) We already pump music around the building from behind the bar (in the form of local radio), and we have PRS certs for live music.
any thoughts?

This is almost certainly not legal for a number of reasons.
First, the DWJukebox license explicitly prohibits commercial use; this is required due to patent restrictions on decoding MP3's.
Second, the jukebox is going to need to be able to get a local license in most legal jurisdictions; I do not know what the status is in your country, but it is unlikely that a hand-built device will be able to get the appropriate license. This has nothing to do with public performance licenses, it is a taxation mechanism.
Third is the actual music licensing. I am much more familiar with the US laws in this regard, your existing license may or may not cover it.
As far as the technical matter, you will need to build some sort of box with the keypad and coin slot mounted on it... inside the box a small 2-port USB hub with the keypad in one port and another device, like the motherboard of a mouse or gamepad connected to the other. Solder the switch connections from the right mouse button or any of the gamepad buttons to the switch input of the coin acceptor and coins will show up like a button press. (This applies to mechanical coin selectors; digital selectors will require a different setup.)
